Many of you asked, “So what about the kiddos?” when we announced our Valentine’s Day head shot event, so here you go – a day of mini sessions just for the lil’ ones!

What’s included:

$25 (per child) gets you a 15-20 minute session and a viewing of the touched up proofs in our studio the week after the event.  There is no product included with the session fee.

Who can participate?

These sessions are suitable for children and babies who can sit up unassisted.  Boys and girls are both welcome!!

How should I dress my child?

However you want!  All photos will have a seamless white backdrop, so bold colors will show up best.  Please avoid solid white or light pastel clothing.  You can choose to dress for the theme like our fabulous little model, but it’s not required!

Where is the studio?

We’re on Market Square in downtown Knoxville, on the second floor above Soccer Taco.  You will need to go under the restaurant’s yellow awning (that’s the important step!) and you’ll see a door with our name printed on it.  Just come upstairs!

Limited street parking is available around the area on Walnut, Union, and Gay, but the easiest place to park is the garage on the corner of Walnut St. and Wall Ave.  The garage is free on weekends!!

How much are prints?

Our individual prints begin at $30, and we will have special sale-priced packages available to mini session customers only.  We also have fun purchase bonuses for free that are earned based on the size of your order.

How do I sign up??

We have limited slots available, so please book your spot soon!  You can make appointments by calling 865 323 8567 during office hours (9am – 6pm) or by e-mailing me at erin@erinbrownephoto.com.  The session fee is due at the time of booking, and cancellations (with refund) are allowed until February 9th.

What does this look like?

Have a look at our sassy little model to get an idea of what you can expect!  You will need to have your child already dressed for the shoot when you arrive, and we will have a few simple props and seating available.  All photos are taken on a seamless white backdrop.

Now all that’s left is booking your spot!  This is a great way to save money on our usual print pricing and a quick way to get some updated photos of your child – don’t miss out!

We are excited to announce our first theme shoot in the studio!  On Friday, January 20th from 6-8pm, come by our Market Square studio for a free and fun Valentine’s Day themed photo!  Everyone will receive a 2-3 minute sitting.  All photos will be uploaded online a few days after the shoot and will be available for purchase.  No obligation to buy a print unless you like your photo – just come on by and have some fun!

Everyone who purchases a print will receive a Facebook version of your photo for use as your profile pic!

This theme is a standing head-shot, so while children are welcome, they may need to be held by their parents or stand on a platform.

We are very excited to announce our new studio share program, open only to a very small group of local photographers of all kinds.

What is this all about?

We are looking to transition our studio into a shared space by a small exclusive group of photographers, rather than being open to public rentals. I decided to do things this way so we can trust that the space will stay in good shape, feel comfortable leaving props/backdrops there, and even have occasional lunches and meet-ups where everyone can share what’s working for them, what’s not working for them, how we can change it to better suit everyone’s needs, etc. It is our goal for this to be a place that’s beneficial to every member’s individual business.

Up until now, we’ve rented our studio in only 4 or 8 hour blocks of time. The half and full day rentals are fantastic every now and then, but the costs can add up quickly if you need regular use of the space. With our share program, you’ll enjoy use of the studio for small or large blocks of time, including equipment, for one monthly fee.

Why does this make economic sense?

The rental rate for photo studios in Knoxville runs upwards of $150 for a half day. For photographers needing flexible hours for shooting and for viewing proofs, a studio residency can create savings in as few as 3 clients per month. The finished studio setup also allows you efficiently manage your time and resources by spending more time on shooting and selling, and less time on equipment transportation, set-up, tear-down, and maintenance. It’s there when you need it – you just show up and shoot.

How will this help your business?

Your clients want flexibility when it comes to scheduling sessions, and oftentimes the cost of renting a location results in photographers needing to host ‘marathons’ or a day of mini-shoots in order to accommodate as many people as possible under a single rental fee.   As a resident of our studio, you’ll be able to schedule single shoots that work for you and your client, eliminating the need for rushed, multi-client days. Also, you will be able to invite your clients back to view their images on a 58″ plasma screen in a beautiful meeting area, allowing you to preview potential print purchases at actual size.

I posted this over on the boudoir blog, but wanted to let everyone over here know about it as well!

For shoots booked between now and January 10th (your shoot must actually happen during that timeframe), you will receive a free outfit upgrade to your base boudoir package.  This will give you a total of 3 different outfits for your shoot, and will give you more variety in your finished images as well!

About Our Boudoir Photography:

All of our sessions are held in a private downtown studio with an all female staff.  You will provide your own outfits for the shoot.  We have in-studio hair and makeup services available for those who request it.  All of our images are done tastefully (no blatant nudity allowed) and are kept private unless you give us permission to share them on our blog, website, and/or in the studio.

Dress for the shoot is entirely up to you, though we are happy to offer suggestions if you need it.  If you’re not quite feeling brave enough to wear lingerie in your photos, you don’t have to!  We have taken lovely photos of women wearing cocktail dresses or other sexy clothing without the need to show as much skin.  Please contact me for any questions or concerns you have regarding clothing choices, and I will be happy to help you out!

Limitations:

We are conveniently located in the Ziegler building on Market Square in downtown Knoxville, which is ideal for both studio and outdoor downtown sessions on Gay Street, Market Square, and Krutch Park. We are just a short walk away from Old City and the train tracks as well!

Here are a few photos of the space, with some description on what we’d be able to offer you:

The shooting area with original hardwood floors and exposed brick walls. Several cloth backdrop choices are available, as well 9ft seamless white paper. Several blanket/linen choices available for the bed (which can be used for boudoir or as a surface for babies and children) The bed is an air mattress, so it’s easily tossed to the side if you don’t need it! Fill level of the mattress can be adjusted for a firm or flexible surface.

The shooting area gets fantastic indirect natural light. Want to subtract light instead? Each window is covered in cellular blinds that completely block out the sun for darkness or for privacy.

Our meeting area is available for proofing and/or client meetings. There’s a 58″ Plasma screen with both VGA and HDMI inputs. Our studio is also equipped with Wi-fi. Any of the furnishings can be moved into the shooting area for use as props.

We are looking for a bright individual to participate in a 6-month internship with our studio. If selected, you will be assisting during boudoir studio shoots and weddings, and receiving individualized training for photography, off-camera lighting, editing, and design.  In addition to “real world” experience from actual shoots, you will also learn more about what goes on “behind the scenes” here at the studio, and how we make things tick!

During weddings, you will be assisting with set-up and breakdown of lighting systems during group portraits, and positioning off-camera light during receptions (you will be trained on how to do these things).  During boudoir sessions, you will prepare equipment for shoots, learn lighting and posing techniques, and help make sure the client’s hair, makeup, and clothing remains perfect! 

You will receive specialized training sessions with Erin and/or Matt on shooting techniques, manual controls, lighting, composition, and client interaction.  Erin will work with you on editing techniques, studio management, and album production.

..and, we’re pretty nice people who believe in positive work environments, so hopefully working with us will be fun as well as knowledgeable!

In general, we’re looking for someone who:

- is outgoing, friendly, and good with people
- is good with written and spoken language
- is able to quickly learn technical concepts
- is ambitious and hard-working
- is flexible with hours on both weekends and weekdays
- is good with color
- has an eye for clean design
- is comfortable (and is interested in) assisting with both studio boudoir sessions and weddings

Basic technical knowledge of photography (manual settings, lighting) and experience with photoshop is preferred, but not required. 

This is an unpaid internship, with opportunity to transfer to a permanent paid assistant’s position at the end of the 6-month period.  Participation in the program does not guarantee employment.  Hours will vary widely based on shooting schedules, but you can expect to work/train 5-15 hours a week (including weekends).

I know what you’re thinking, August is way too early to even be thinking about Christmas, but we know that the fall and holiday seasons are busy times for our studio and want to be prepared!

Boudoir albums are a fantastic and unique gift idea for your significant other.  Since all of our albums are designed from scratch and every image inside retouched to perfection, you’ll need to plan early if you want to have it sitting under your tree this Christmas!  All sessions must be completed by October 22nd to guarantee that you will have your album before Christmas.

If you secure your spot by August 27th (your actual shoot can be for later in the fall), you will receive a free outfit and set upgrade to your package, which is valued at $75!

Sessions can be scheduled during the week between 10am and 3:30pm.  We can arrange for professional hair and makeup services for you if needed, and we’ll be happy to consult with you regarding outfit or costume choices.   We require a $75 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot.

As always, boudoir sessions are confidential, and your images will never be shared with anyone unless you give us permission to do so.  Our Market Square studio provides a private, comfortable atmosphere, and care is taken to ensure that your shoot is a fun, confidence-building experience!
