Julia came into town one stormy, gloomy afternoon, so her outdoor bridal session was moved indoors. Sometimes I enjoy shooting indoors even more than outdoors!

Stacy chose to do her bridal session a few weeks after the wedding. This was a great choice because we didn’t have to be so careful with the dress, meaning she could fun things like lie on the ground that wouldn’t be practical during a pre-wedding shoot! Her new hubby Jason stopped by at the end of the session, so we included him in a couple of shots as well. We had a gorgeous sunny evening with blue skies and lots of sparkling light. I know I’ve said a million times how much I dislike shooting on dark cloudy days, but this session just proves that it makes a huge difference!

I’m always grateful when a bride chooses to do a separate bridal portrait session, but even more so when she emerges from the dressing room in an insane gown like this one from Maggie Sottero. I would have been crying inside on the wedding day knowing that I’d never have the time to photograph her properly. We were super excited for the chance to really showcase Lisa’s beauty, and this incredibly beautiful dress!!

Chelsea’s Bridal Session | Knoxville Convention Center

Chelsea and Andy are good ‘n married now, so I can finally share some of the images from her bridal session! We had planned for an indoor session due to a nasty weather forecast, but managed to sneak outside for a few outside shots at the beginning of the session.

Check out that massive storm!! We did not stray too far from the doors into the convention center in case we had to make a mad dash when the bottom finally decided to drop out of those clouds.

I’ve said it a hundred times, so once more can’t hurt – if you want bridal images like these, you must schedule a bridal session! We’ll take a few pretty ones on the wedding day, but a session like this lasts around 3 hours, and that just ain’t happenin’ on the big day!

Before I share some photos from Sarah’s bridal session, I just wanted to say thank you to those who volunteered to be high school senior models for us! Sarah’s bridal session took place at her wedding venue, Butterfly Gap Retreat, a few weeks before her wedding. We met just before sunset, which is the best time to shoot at this location. Butterfly Gap is a beautiful and unique venue and more great photo opportunities open up when you’re not shooting in the harsh light of the midday sun!

Sarah did an awesome job and we had a great time with her at her bridal session, and later, her wedding!

Holly | Knoxville TN Bridal Session | Cherokee Country Club

We did Holly’s bridal session a few weeks before her wedding at the lovely Cherokee Country Club. There was vicious lightning and tornado warnings going on outside for much of the session, so we were lucky to have such a great indoor location to play with. Holly had an absolutely stunning dress!!

It was a cloudy evening that was threatening to rain when we met up with Jennifer and one of her good friends at Volunteer Landing. We did have to combat a few brief showers, but Jennifer did a great job and it ended up being a wonderful session!

Cathy’s Bridal Session | Nashville Tennessee Photography | Riverwood Mansion

I’ve been keeping this session under wraps since April, but now that Cathy & Matt have been married for a few weeks, I can share these images!

I know I’ve said this before, but it’s good to refresh.. if bridal photos are of any importance to you, please schedule a bridal session with us. A good bridal session can take as long as 3 hours, and that’s obviously never going to happen on a wedding day (I would never do that anyway – think of all the moments we’d be missing out on capturing by spending that long on portraits!). With some planning, we can do the session on the same day as your hair and makeup trial and you can kill 3 birds with one stone.

Anyway, I digress. Riverwood Mansion in Nashville was the site for Cathy’s bridal session and wedding, and I’m completely in love. My only complaint is that it’s not in Knoxville, because I would love to shoot here every chance I got! The interior of the historic house is absolutely stunning, and the land surrounding the property is beautifully landscaped.

We photographed Jana’s bridal session in the fall, and then we shot her wedding on January 2nd, where she displayed several of these photos at the entrance to her reception. She was wonderful to work with, and her wedding feature with her new hubby Graham will be on the blog in the near future!
