Sarah’s bridal session took place at her wedding venue, Butterfly Gap Retreat, a few weeks before her wedding.  We met just before sunset, which is the best time to shoot at this location.  Butterfly Gap is a beautiful and unique venue and more great photo opportunities open up when you’re not shooting in the harsh light of the midday sun!

Sarah did an awesome job and we had a great time with her at her bridal session, and later, her wedding!

I know I’ve said this before, but it’s good to refresh.. if bridal photos are of any importance to you, please schedule a bridal session with us. A good bridal session can take as long as 3 hours, and that’s obviously never going to happen on a wedding day (I would never do that anyway – think of all the moments we’d be missing out on capturing by spending that long on portraits!). With some planning, we can do the session on the same day as your hair and makeup trial and you can kill 3 birds with one stone.

Anyway, I digress. Riverwood Mansion in Nashville was the site for Cathy’s bridal session and wedding, and I’m completely in love. My only complaint is that it’s not in Knoxville, because I would love to shoot here every chance I got! The interior of the historic house is absolutely stunning, and the land surrounding the property is beautifully landscaped.

We photographed Jana’s bridal session in the fall, and then we shot her wedding on January 2nd, where she displayed several of these photos at the entrance to her reception. She was wonderful to work with, and her wedding feature with her new hubby Graham will be on the blog in the near future!

Casey is a total sweetheart and we had fun playing with some different images during her bridal session.

Since Casey’s future hubby plays professional baseball, and they got engaged at the fields in Sequoyah Hills, we played around with some of his baseball stuff!

Then at the end, Casey wanted to prepare a little surprise, and dressed up in his old UT jersey and eye black. Since the sun was gone by then and these images looked a little different, we got to play with some funky light as well!

The ideal solution would have been to reschedule, but since we were already so close to the wedding and Jennifer definitely wanted to go ahead and get it taken care of, we met 3 hours earlier than we had originally planned to try and beat the rain. The cloud cover from the impending rain protected us from any harsh light (we usually shoot our outdoor sessions near sunset) and we were able to finish up just as the first few drops started falling!

We met up with Brittainy a couple of months ago for her bridal session, and since she and her new husband Mike have been married since July 5th, I can blog!

Brittainy had a really long veil, and that makes us excited because they are so much fun to play with!

We met up outdoors in April when the trees were just beginning to fill out. We had some wonderful warm sunset light to work with and it was a very pleasant evening!
