Heather and Clint | Knoxville TN Wedding Photography | Bleak House

Heather & Clint planned an outdoor wedding at beautiful Bleak House. We arrived with our fingers crossed, since the forecast that morning was calling for significant rain throughout the day. Anyone who works in the wedding industry is more than aware of the rainy weekends this past Spring. Every Saturday for weeks was nothing but rain, rain, rain. It felt like we just couldn’t catch a break!

Earlier in the day it looked like this, so we thought maybe we’d be home free:

The clouds moved in when we went outside for a few portraits, but the wet stuff was still holding off

Things weren’t looking too good as the ceremony approached, and people were watching the outdoors warily.

It started pouring just before ceremony time, so the guests mingled inside of the house as we waited for a break. When it finally stopped, the Bleak House team snapped to action and ran out to dry off all of the chairs, and we quickly started the ceremony.

About halfway through the service, however, the heavens opened up again! Matt and I always carry mini umbrellas with us on potentially rainy days, and Heather and Clint ended up with some unique photos!

We set up for family photos in one of the front rooms, and then went upstairs with just the two of them to get away from the crowds for a few private photos. Even though the outside area wasn’t able to be used, we’re firm believers that there is always *something* to shoot:

A clever idea for getting all of the sparklers lit at the same time.. votive candles placed along the line of people.

I bet the wet weather made quite a mess out of the toilet paper and shaving cream! Yucky!
